What is Mental Health Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy (OT) helps people of all ages participate in daily life. OTs promote health, wellbeing, and participation. We help people do the things that matter most to them- whatever that is. While you probably have heard of OTs teaching people how to do things like get dressed after a stroke, or helping older adults adapt their bathrooms with grab bars to safely shower as they age, OTs are actually quite versatile professionals.

In the field of mental health, OTs continue to help people do the things that matter most to them. The purpose remains the same while the barrier differs. For example, if anxiety is getting in the way of you reaching your goal of getting back to work, we work with you to overcome that anxiety. Ultimately, function is our focus- we want to make sure you're as functional as possible!
